The tangential whirling flow pattern of both air and liquid ascends the multiple venturi sections with dynamic impingement creating high collection efficiency. The wash liquid is driven to the outside of the top moisture eliminator section of the scrubber by centrifugal force, then drains back to the bottom reservoir. Entrained dirt particles settle to the bottom of the reservoir. Clean wash liquid is drawn from the surface of the reservoir and ecirculated in a closed system, thus reducing water consumption. The Monroe Multiple Venturi Air Scrubber contains no moving parts. The entry area and the venturi throats are self-cleaning. The maintenance requirements for this unit are low. It is not necessary to enter the structure for cleaning, as is required with many other air scrubbers. There is no packing required, water distributors to clean, nozzles to maintain, or mechanical devices to cause downtime. Once placed on line, the Monroe Multiple Venturi Air Scrubber operates continuously with sustained efficiency. Normally, the high efficiency of a single stage Monroe Multiple Venturi Air Scrubber will handle most industrial processes.For difficult applications two or three stage systems are available. High removal efficiency can be achieved on chemical fumes because of excellent liquid/gas contact and long residence time. The self induced water recirculating system provides a convenient means of adding neutralizing chemicals.

System Design The Monroe Fiber Bed Mist Collector is a custom designed unit consisting of a continuous-duty, aerosol coalescing filter, fan assembly and, when needed, an optional pre-filter stage. These long-life filters can provide several years of service before replacement is necessary. When the mist contains heavy droplets and/or dust particles, pre-filtering is provided by separate filters. The Monroe Fiber Bed Mist Collector is available in capacities from 500 to 50,000 CFM in a single unit and may be integrated with existing duct work. The Monroe Fiber Bed Mist Collector is well suited for many oil mist applications including high production machining, asphalt fumes and synthetic fiber processing. Many industrial and chemical applications generate sub-micron mists. The Monroe Fiber Bed Mist Collector, developed after lengthy research and testing, is an ideal solution for these troublesome mists. Mist particles are efficiently removed through interception, inertial impact, diffusion (Brownian movement) and gravitational sedimentation.

Self-contained, Single Unit Design The Monroe Multi-Stage Oil Mist Collector is designed to collect and remove airborne oil mist, smoke, and sub-micron vapors generated by operations such as high production machining and cold forming. It is a multiple stage collector that has proven capabilities exceeding 99% efficiency on many installations. After installation of a Monroe Multi-Stage Oil Mist Collector, high production machining areas using water soluble, synthetic or mineral coolants can discharge clean, filtered air back into the work area, reducing system costs.
